キルケラン ヘビリーピーテッド バッチ12 は、通常品とは異なるヘビリーピーテッド
麦芽を使用した年2 回リリースのスモールバッチボトリングです。麦芽のフェノール
値は45ppm で、バーボン樽（90％）とシェリー樽（10％）の2 つの原酒を使用し、カス
クストレングスでボトリング。
香りはクリーミーなバタースコッチとキャラメルが広がり、徐々にライ麦パンや茶葉
へと変化します。口に含むとオイリーで、味わいはしっかりとしたピートスモークと共
にイベリコハム、キャラメルジンジャークッキーが広がります。ピートスモークはフィニッシュまで続き、レモンシャーベット、コムハニー、わずかにミントが顔を覗かせます。

キルケラン（Kilkerran）はキャンベルタウンに2004 年にオープンした「ミッチェルズ・
グレンガイル蒸溜所」のシングルモルトウイスキーです。グレンガイルは、1925 年に
閉鎖されたオリジナルと同じ敷地に建てられています。姉妹蒸溜所であるスプリン
グバンクでフロアモルティングしたライトピート麦芽（約15ppm）を使用し、2 回蒸溜でつくられるキルケランの生産量は10 万リットルほどで、年に3 ヶ月ほどスプリングバ
ンクの職人により蒸溜されています。

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 12 is a small-batch bottling released twice a year, made with heavily peated malt that differs from the distillery’s standard style. The malt has a phenol level of 45 ppm, and the whisky is matured in bourbon casks (90%) and sherry casks (10%), then bottled at cask strength.

On the nose, it opens with creamy butterscotch and caramel, gradually developing into notes of rye bread and tea leaves.
The palate is oily in texture, delivering robust peat smoke alongside flavors of Iberico ham and caramel ginger cookies. The peat smoke lingers into the finish, joined by hints of lemon sorbet, comb honey, and a touch of mint.

This release offers a bolder expression of Kilkerran, showcasing the intensified smoky character brought by the heavily peated malt.

Kilkerran is the single malt whisky produced at the Mitchell’s Glengyle Distillery, which opened in 2004 in Campbeltown on the very same site as the original Glengyle Distillery that closed in 1925. Using lightly peated malt (around 15 ppm) floor-malted at its sister distillery Springbank, Kilkerran is double-distilled with an annual production of around 100,000 liters, crafted over roughly three months each year by the skilled team from Springbank.
