Upon meeting Dr. Lumsden, Ford explored his own flavor preferences through extensive cask tastings. The two continued to exchange samples across the Atlantic, meticulously refining the multi-layered flavor profile until its completion. Far from a typical celebrity endorsement where a name is simply lent to a label, this bottling represents a serious, hands-on commitment from Ford, a long-time whisky enthusiast.

The liquid marries classic spirit matured in ex-bourbon casks with rare components finished in toasted Portuguese red wine casks, achieving an elegant profile characterized by citrus vibrancy and deep sweetness.

Dr. Bill Lumsden notes: "While maintaining an exceptionally elegant and smooth character, we layered the characteristics of bourbon and Portuguese red wine casks to introduce a touch of spice—a specific preference of Mr. Ford’s."

• Nosing: Glenmorangie's signature elegant citrus freshness develops alongside honeysuckle, muscovado sugar, apricot, and a buttery softness. The foundation remains rooted in the floral, delicate aromas yielded by Scotland’s tallest pot stills.

• Palate: In addition to the honeysuckle, citrus, and buttery texture, nuances of marmalade and robust tannins emerge. Red fruit characteristics derived from the Portuguese wine casks unfold slowly across the palate, carried by Glenmorangie's characteristically silky mouthfeel.

• Finish: Notes of orange oil, leather, and oak tannins linger in a long, elegant finish. Upon first tasting the final liquid, Ford reportedly repeated, "It’s nice. It’s very nice." This understated yet assured endorsement speaks to the very essence of the whisky.
