1980年代、埼玉・羽生蒸溜所で静かに蒸溜されていた原酒たち。2000年、蒸溜所は製造を停止し、その存在は歴史の中に埋もれかけていました。しかし創業者・肥土伊知郎氏は、祖父から受け継いだこの原酒を「捨てない」と決断。トランプの1枚1枚に見立てたボトルとして世に送り出したのが、伝説の「カードシリーズ」です。

1985年から2000年まで、6つのヴィンテージの原酒。ホグスヘッド、シェリーバット、パンチョン、コニャック、マデイラ、バーボンバレル、チビダル——7種の樽。全14樽を秩父蒸溜所で丁寧にヴァッティングし、2014年にたった3,690本だけがボトリングされました。

羽生蒸溜所はもう存在しません。この原酒も、もう一滴も増えません。今ここにある1本が、世界に残る最後のうちの1本です。

トルコ菓子、白檀、バラの花びら、ポプリ——華やかでエキゾチックな香り。

During the 1980s and 1990s, spirit was quietly distilled at Hanyu Distillery in Saitama. In 2000, production ceased, and the distillery seemed destined to fade into history. Yet founder Ichiro Akuto made a remarkable decision: he would not let these inherited casks disappear.

The result was the now-iconic Card Series, in which each release represented a playing card. After years of anticipation, the 54th and final card arrived:

JOKER “COLOR.”

A fitting conclusion to one of the most celebrated Japanese whisky series ever created.

Only 3,690 Bottles. No More Will Ever Exist.

This final release combines six vintages distilled between 1985 and 2000, drawn from fourteen casks matured in seven different cask types: hogshead, sherry butt, puncheon, cognac cask, Madeira cask, bourbon barrel, and Chibidaru.

The casks were carefully vatted at Chichibu Distillery and bottled in 2014, yielding just 3,690 bottles worldwide.

Hanyu Distillery no longer exists. The whisky that went into this bottle can never be recreated. Every remaining bottle is one of the last tangible pieces of the distillery's history.

A Kaleidoscope in the Glass

The nose unfolds with exotic elegance: Turkish delight, sandalwood, rose petals, and potpourri.

On the palate, notes of cardamom, yuzu peel, blackberry, and dates emerge with vibrant sweetness and acidity. Kaffir lime and mint bring freshness, while a Fernet-like herbal bitterness adds remarkable depth and complexity.

The finish is long, gentle, and beautifully layered, recalling black tea and honey.
