タムデュー蒸留所は1897年に設立されました。
設立当初からスペインから高品質のシェリー樽を調達してシェリー樽100％熟成を行い、設備の近代化と生産能力の増強を図りながら、1970年代のウイスキーブームに乗じて生産量を増大させましたが、残念ながら2010年には蒸留所が閉鎖されてしまいました。そして2012年に現オーナーであるイアンマクラウド社が買収し、タムデュー蒸留所の設立当初からのポリシーとレガシーをそのまま引き継ぎ、最高のウイスキーを造るべく生産を再開しました。もちろん高品質のシェリー樽100％熟成という伝統を守りながら、100年以上経った今も同じ製法で最高のスペイサイドモルトをリリースしています。

テイスティングノート

香りはクリーミーなバニラとろけるようなハチミツ、味は夏の果樹園、際立つベリー系＆甘いレモンピールのキャンディ、フィニッシュはエレガントなシェリー樽のオーク、舌に残るかすかなイチジクが長く続く。

Tamdhu Distillery was founded in 1897.
From the very beginning, the distillery sourced high-quality sherry casks from Spain and matured its whisky exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak. While modernizing its facilities and expanding production capacity, Tamdhu increased output during the whisky boom of the 1970s. Unfortunately, the distillery was closed in 2010.

In 2012, it was acquired by its current owner, Ian Macleod Distillers, which revived production while faithfully inheriting the founding philosophy and legacy of Tamdhu. With a commitment to crafting exceptional whisky, the distillery resumed operations, continuing its tradition of 100% sherry cask maturation. More than a century later, Tamdhu still releases outstanding Speyside single malts made using the same time-honored methods.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Creamy vanilla and melting honey.
Palate: A summer orchard character with vibrant berries and sweet lemon-peel candy.
Finish: Elegant sherry-oak notes with a lingering hint of fig on the tongue.
