[竹鶴ピュアモルト」が目指したのは、かつてないほど飲みやすいモルトウイスキー。本来、モルトウイスキーはクセの少ないグレーンウイスキーに比べ、原酒の個性が強く感じられ、風味豊かな味わいに仕上がります。そのため複数の蒸溜所でつくられたモルト原酒をブレンドするピュアモルトウイスキーが、グレーン原酒を使用するブレンデッドウイスキーのような軽やかさを生み出すのはとても困難とされてきました。

しかし、竹鶴政孝が夢を追い続けたように、難しい道を選ばなければ、理想の味わいにたどり着くことはできません。スコットランドによく似た余市蒸溜所の凍てつく環境が生む荒々しいモルトと、霧深い渓谷に囲まれた宮城峡蒸溜所の自然が育む軽やかなモルト。NIKKAが培ってきたブレンド技術によって、趣の異なる2つの蒸溜所のモルトを精緻に調和させることで、ピュアモルトウイスキーでありながらブレンデッドウイスキーをしのぐ飲みやすさを実現しました。

ブレンダーが長年にわたり蓄積してきた知識と経験によって、余市蒸溜所と宮城峡蒸溜所のモルトの風味を存分に引き出し、まとめあげました。キーモルトとなるのは、シェリー樽熟成の余市モルトと宮城峡モルト、リメード樽熟成の宮城峡モルトです。なめらかで艶やかな口当たり、華やかでフルーティーな香り。重厚なモルトの甘みとコク、やわらかく続く余韻。多様な香りや味わいが共存した、他に類を見ない調和を堪能ください。

〈テイスティングノート〉

香り：りんごや杏のようなフレッシュで甘酸っぱい果実香、トーストやバニラを思わせる甘く柔らかな樽香。

味わい：バナナやネーブルオレンジのようなフルーティーさ、軽快でありながらしっかりとしたモルトの厚みやピートのコクが感じられる味わい。

余韻：ビターチョコのような甘くほろ苦い余韻が、穏やかな樽香やピート香を伴い心地よく続く。

“Taketsuru Pure Malt” was created with the ambition of achieving an unprecedented level of drinkability in a malt whisky. In general, malt whisky expresses the strong individuality of its components and offers rich, full flavors compared to grain whisky, which tends to be lighter and more neutral. For this reason, it has long been considered extremely difficult for a pure malt whisky—made by blending malt whiskies from multiple distilleries—to achieve the same lightness and ease of drinking as blended whisky, which includes grain whisky.

However, just as Masataka Taketsuru pursued his dreams without compromise, the ideal flavor cannot be reached without choosing the more challenging path. The rugged malt character born from the frigid climate of the Yoichi Distillery, reminiscent of Scotland, and the lighter, more elegant malt nurtured by the misty valleys surrounding the Miyagikyo Distillery are brought together through Nikka’s refined blending expertise. By harmonizing these two distinct malt styles with precision, Nikka has achieved exceptional smoothness and drinkability—surpassing even blended whisky—while remaining a pure malt whisky.

Drawing upon the extensive knowledge and experience accumulated over many years, Nikka’s blenders have fully expressed and unified the unique characters of Yoichi and Miyagikyo malts. Key components include Yoichi and Miyagikyo malts aged in sherry casks, along with Miyagikyo malt matured in remade casks. The result is a whisky with a smooth, lustrous mouthfeel and a vibrant, fruity aroma. Rich malt sweetness and depth are complemented by a soft, lingering finish. This is a rare harmony where diverse aromas and flavors coexist in perfect balance.

〈Tasting Notes〉

Nose: Fresh, sweet-tart fruit aromas reminiscent of apple and apricot, with gentle, sweet oak notes suggestive of toast and vanilla.

Palate: Fruity flavors of banana and navel orange, with a light yet substantial malt richness and a gentle peat depth.

Finish: A pleasantly lingering finish with sweet, slightly bitter notes reminiscent of dark chocolate, accompanied by soft oak and subtle peat.
