ミークルトールは、ピーテッド麦芽を使用したグレンアラヒー蒸溜所のシングルモルトです。
古いスコットランド語とゲール語を組み合わせた「大いなる追求」を意味するその名には、
マスターディスティラーであるビリー・ウォーカーの長年にわたる試行錯誤と飽くなき探求、そして情熱が込められています。

日本初となるミークルトールのシングルカスク。オロロソシェリーホグスヘッドの7年熟成で、カスクストレングスボトリングです。

〈テイスティングノート〉
色は赤みを帯びたアンバー。グラスに注ぐと、深くローストしたアーモンドやモカの香ばしさに、赤いベリーの華やかなアロマが寄り添います。
続いて、炙ったコムハニーのスモーキーな甘み、シナモンシュガー、チリチョコレートのスパイシーなアクセントが重なり、バタースコッチや煮込んだフルーツのやさしい甘みが広がります。
口に含むとヘザーハニーやシナモンバタークリーム、ローストしたヘーゼルナッツの旨みが広がり、糖蜜、煮リンゴやブラックベリーの果実味が現れます。フィニッシュには、スモークジンジャーとモカのほろ苦さが加わり、心地よい余韻が長く続きます。
オロロソシェリー樽のボリュームある果実味と、ミークルトールならではのスモーキーさが調和した、豊かな表情を備えたシングルカスクです。

◆グレンアラヒー蒸溜所◆
グレンアラヒー蒸溜所はアベラワーの町の郊外に1967年に設立された蒸溜所です。
これまでブレンデッドウイスキーへの原酒供給をメインに行っており、シングルモルトとしては極めて希少な銘柄でした。
シングルモルト界の伝説的プロデューサー、ビリー・ウォーカーが、「グレンアラヒー」の可能性を見出し、2017年、グレンアラヒー蒸溜所は大手メーカー傘下から独立を果たしました。

Meikle Tòir is a single malt from GlenAllachie Distillery made using peated malt.
Its name, meaning “The Great Pursuit” in a combination of old Scots and Gaelic, reflects Master Distiller Billy Walker’s many years of trial and error, tireless exploration, and passion.

This is Japan’s first-ever Meikle Tòir single cask. Aged for 7 years in an Oloroso sherry hogshead, it is bottled at cask strength.

Tasting Notes
Color: Reddish amber.
On the nose, deeply roasted almonds and mocha are joined by vibrant aromas of red berries. These are followed by smoky sweetness from torched comb honey, cinnamon sugar, and a spicy accent of chili chocolate, layered with gentle notes of butterscotch and stewed fruits.
On the palate, flavors of heather honey, cinnamon buttercream, and roasted hazelnuts unfold, alongside molasses, baked apple, and blackberry fruitiness. The finish brings hints of smoked ginger and mocha bitterness, leading to a long, satisfying aftertaste.
This single cask offers a rich and expressive profile, where the bold fruitiness of Oloroso sherry casks harmonizes beautifully with Meikle Tòir’s signature smokiness.

◆ GlenAllachie Distillery ◆
GlenAllachie Distillery was founded in 1967 on the outskirts of the town of Aberlour.
For many years, it primarily supplied spirit for blended whisky, making its single malt releases extremely rare.
In 2017, legendary single malt producer Billy Walker recognized GlenAllachie’s potential, and the distillery gained independence from a major corporate owner.
